Fertility Services
I see couples at varying stages of their journey
to parenthood. Some add Chinese Medicine to their regimen to help them
conceive naturally, while others are approaching IUI or IVF and need
support in this area. I also work with women who are currently
pregnant and want to prevent potential miscarriage, are experiencing
morning sickness or other symptoms, have a breech issue or need
induction. I work in all these areas. Whether you are going through
ART or doing it naturally, the beauty and intent of Chinese medicine is
to balance the body and underlying issue and from that a pregnancy then
birth ensues.

Reproductive science has given so many couples the chance to
conceive when they otherwise would not have been able to. Did you know
that with Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine your chances of
carrying to full term are much greater?
On average, couples go through seven cycles of ART before they either conceive or quit.
Statistics show that women under 30 years of age have a 28% chance
of carrying to full term when utilizing assisted reproductive medicine,
women at the age of 39, have an 8% chance and finally women at the age
44, a 3% chance. Research shows that traditional Chinese medicine can
increase those chances (depending on the case and individual) anywhere
from 20-60%.
Here are a few things that I work with inside the preparation of pregnancy:
- Unexplained Infertility
- Premature Ovarian Failure
- Recurrent Miscarriage
- Endometriosis
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
- Uterine Fibroids
- Luteal Phase Defect
- Thyroid/Autoimmune Issues
- Amenorrhea
- Advanced Maternal Age
- Diminished Ovarian Reserve/Egg Quality Issues
- Assistance with IUI/IVF
- Hormone imbalance
- Male Factor Infertility
It is ideal to start treatment 3 months (or ASAP)
before your IUI/IVF procedure, especially if there are hormone,
autoimmune, age or implantation factors. When given time to balance the
body, the following benefits occur:
- Improved egg quality (Very important! Western medication increases
the number of eggs, but does not play a part in the quality of those
eggs. This reduces the number of poor responders.)
- Assistance in implantation
- Better quality uterine lining
- Higher sperm count, better motility and morphology
- Better sensitivity to the reproductive medications
At this stage we are preparing your body or the vessel to carry this
pregnancy to birth, remember getting pregnant is part of the journey,
giving birth is the goal. Miscarriage rates are higher when hormonal
stimulation (medications) has been used. Preventing pregnancy loss is
also an area where Chinese medicine is applicable. I will commonly see
a patient up through their first trimester, with Acupuncture and
sometimes herbs we can create more blood flow to the uterus which can
help in implantation and normal growth of the fetus, deterring
miscarriage. I am looking forward to helping you on your journey to parenthood!
